XO Jet Aviation LLC is one of the largest private aviation companies in the world. The company, which is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, provides access to over 2,000 total private aircraft. These aircraft are available on demand to all customers. Members of the XO program pay a fixed membership price, which then provides access to this network of jets.

XO has a unique membership program, which is generally considered as an alternative to the popular jet cards or even as an alternative to fractional ownership. The company also offers the ability for members to purchase individual seats. These individual seats are available on pre-arranged and shared flights. The company is also a subsidiary of Vista Global, a private aviation group based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Let's take a closer look at some of the unique features of XO, which help make the company one of the world's premier private aviation companies.

Day-of travel support

Passengers need to arrive just 15 minutes prior to departure.

The premium XO experience begins directly from booking. The company offers a mobile app and website allowing the traveler to filter through various available aircraft across various routes. XO also offers dedicated advisors to provide guidance for new travelers.

Once a traveler books a flight, the XO team offers different accommodations. This can include arranging catering for the flight, offering ground transportation, or even concierge services for each passenger.

A member of the XO team also supports the traveler on the day of the trip. The team member will greet each traveler at the private jet terminal and assist with the boarding process. Travelers need to arrive just 15 minutes before their plane is set to depart.

In-flight experiences

Nearly every aircraft in the fleet offers complimentary WiFi.

Over 2,100 aircraft are listed in the XO fleet. This means that there is a wide range of types of aircraft that XO travelers can utilize. Many of the fleet's large cabin jets or ultra-long-range jets are accompanied by a cabin host to improve service.

Many of XO's jets are top-of-the-class aircraft. XO does not always own these aircraft, but many are a part of the preferred operator partnership program.

The light jet fleet consists of Citation Ultras, Citation CJ3, and Embraer Phenom 300s, which can comfortably hold up to seven passengers. The company's midsize aircraft, Citation XLs or Hawker 800s, can reach a range of 2,620 nautical miles (3,015 miles). XO has several Bombardier Challenger variants in addition to Embraer Praetor 600s, Hawker 4000s, and Citation Xs in the super midsize category.

The company's large cabin jets consist of larger Gulfstream and Challenger aircraft and can hold up to 14 passengers. Finally, XO has several Global 5000s, 6000s, and 7500s in addition to its Gulfstream G650s and Falcon 7Xs in the ultra-long-range category. These aircraft provide a variety of types to meet every passenger's needs.

Safety process for the entire fleet

Every single one of the 2,100 aircraft in XO is required to undergo rigorous safety procedures.

XO has an extensive safety audit process for each of the aircraft in the company's extended fleet. As previously mentioned, these aircraft span all cabin classes, and many of these aircraft are operated by third parties.

These third-party operators must meet or exceed any regulatory requirements from the operator's countries. Many operators have been awarded prestigious accreditations. These operators may be IS-BAO Stage 3 approved, ARG/US Platinum rated, or Wyvern Wingman certified. XO only operates Bombardier Challenger 300s and Cessna Citation X jets, so the remaining aircraft offered by the company are through approved third parties.

Membership costs

Per Travel and Leisure, XO offers several different types of memberships. The shared membership is available for just $595 per year. Non-members are subject to a $395 booking fee per seat on any flight. This shared membership waives that $395 booking fee. It also allows the member to book at least two individual seats per scheduled flight.

Beyond the shared membership are two other memberships, typically used for chartering jets. The XO Membership requires a $100,000 minimum deposit and costs about $995 per year. This membership offers limited access to the XO fleet and has just over 300 aircraft available.

The XO Reserve membership requires a $250,000 deposit and costs $995 per year. XO Reserve offers priority access to the XO fleet and includes refundable bookings, preferred pricing, and other event invitations. Both of these memberships earn special perks through XO's luxury lifestyle partners. This includes Lacure, Apollo Yachts, Langham Hotels, and Avis.

Per Travel and Leisure, individual seats on existing flights start at around $1,500, but there is a $395 fee for non-members. Full charter flights can range between $7,500 for a light jet and $14,844 for a long-range jet on short, one-way flights. These prices are subject to availability and what route is required.

Sustainability and efficiency

The company has committed to becoming carbon-neutral by 2025.

XO and its parent company, Vista, have both made an effort to improve its sustainability as a whole. The companies partnered with South Pole, a global leader in sustainability efforts. South Pole assists companies throughout the world with becoming net-zero.

The company also offers the ability for XO clients to purchase certified carbon credits. These credits are purchased from climate action projects. It allows travelers to offset the carbon emissions that are generated by their flights.
